Hope Supply Co. Celebrates 30th Birthday With Friends And A Raven Bearing A Check
Hope Supply Co. Receives Grant for 30,075 diapers
from the National Diaper Bank Network
to Support Local Families Impacted by Recent Government Shutdown
Dallas, February 1st, 2019—The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) has directed more than 30,000 diapers to Hope Supply Co. for its work in providing emergency diaper assistance to local federal workers and families impacted by the recent 35-day government shutdown.
The diaper donation was made possible by a grant to NDBN from GoFundMe and the thousands of individuals who contributed to the “Government Shutdown Direct Relief Fund.” Hope Supply Co. is one of 18 NDBN member diaper banks throughout the country to receive diapers as a result of the crowd funding campaign.
“Going without pay for a month left many furloughed federal workers and their families straining to afford basic necessities, like diapers,” said NDBN CEO Joanne Goldblum. “Fortunately, Hope Supply Co. stepped in to help.”
One in three U.S. families experiences diaper need, which is the struggle to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. A lack of clean diapers impacts the physical, emotional, and economic well-being of children and families.
NDBN member diaper banks sharing in the diapers include: Austin Diaper Bank; Diaper Bank of North Carolina (Durham); Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona (Tucson); Galveston Diaper Bank; Greater DC Diaper Bank (Washington); Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank; HappyBottoms (Kansas City); Help A Mother Out (San Francisco); Hope Supply Co. (Dallas); Jake’s Diapers (Kaukauna, Wisc.); Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank; Mitzvah Circle Foundation (Philadelphia); Nashville Diaper Connection; St. Louis Area Diaper Bank; Texas Diaper Bank (San Antonio); The Diaper Bank of Connecticut (North Haven); Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank (Pittsburgh); and WestSide Baby (Seattle).
National Diaper Bank Network was one of four nonprofits receiving grants from the GoFundMe campaign. The others included World Central Kitchen, Feeding America, and Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA).
Hope Supply Co. is a Dallas-based nonprofit that meets the critical needs of homeless and at-risk children across North Texas by providing necessities including diapers, hygiene items, clothing, and school supplies enhance their lives. Hope Supply Co. was founded in 1989 as The Hope Foundation for the Homeless and is a regional diaper bank member of the National Diaper Bank Network. Hope Supply Co. has been serving the homeless for 30 years. Their mission is to meet the critical needs of homeless and at-risk children in North Texas, where on any given night, more than 1,000 children fall asleep homeless. These are the hidden homeless and many people are not aware of the enormous and growing problem of child homelessness in North Texas. Their circumstances rob them of the ability to experience the childhood that all children deserve.
The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) is a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to eliminating diaper need in America, by leading a national movement to help meet the basic needs of all babies and their families…including access to clean, dry diapers and other material goods. Founded in 2011 with the support of Huggies®, the network raises national awareness of diaper need (#DiaperNeed) and supports the development and expansion of diaper banks in communities throughout the country. Its active membership includes more than 200 diaper banks, diaper pantries, and food banks located in 47 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. More information on NDBN and diaper need is available at www.nationaldiaperbanknetwork.org, and on Twitter (@DiaperNetwork) and Facebook (facebook.com/NationalDiaperBankNetwork).

Teleperformance and Feed the Children to Help Feed Dallas Families in Need
Hope Supply Co., Owenwood Farm and Neighborhood Space Join Organizations to Feed 400 Families
DALLAS (August 16, 2018) – Teleperformance will work alongside Hope Supply Co. and Owenwood Farm and Neighborhood Space as well as world anti-hunger organization Feed the Children to fight childhood hunger in the Dallas community. The community partners will come together to provide food and essentials to 400 families, pre-identified based on need by Owenwood Farm and Neighborhood Space. The families will gather at Owenwood Farm and Neighborhood Space, a campus of White Rock United Methodist Church (1451 John West Dr.), Sat., Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Each participating family will receive a 25-pound box of food such as canned vegetables, peanut butter and mac ‘n cheese, and a 15-pound box of personal-care items such as shampoo, razors and toothpaste. The provided food and personal-care items will help families in need of basic materials most people take for granted.
"Hope Supply Co. is excited to work with Feed the Children on getting basic supplies to needy children and their families in Dallas,” said Barbara Johnson, CEO of Hope Supply Co. “Hope Supply Co. is dedicated to meeting the critical needs of homeless and at-risk children all year round."
“One way we need to show our gratitude for what we have is by giving back. None of us would be where we are today were it not for the exceptional circumstances in which we have grown up,” said Teleperformance site director Richard George. “It is not just a good thing to give back; it is our duty to try and make the world a better place for those less fortunate than ourselves. I am honored to be leading Teleperformance’s Dallas Site in this endeavor.”
This is one of many events Feed the Children has planned with Teleperformance across the country to help defeat hunger. In Dallas alone, nearly 23 percent of families live below the poverty line. With the help of community partners and volunteers, we can help feed those in need.
“Today, we are not only providing food and necessities to these families—but also hope,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children president and CEO. “Hope for a better future in Dallas is made possible thanks to our partners at Teleperformance, Hope Supply Co. and Owenwood Farm and Neighborhood Space who play a vital role in helping us create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”
